Job summary

The ICE & Order Comms - Application Support position will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the ICE (GP order communications system) as well as supporting the internal order comms solution using our Cerner Millennium EPR.

They will be responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line support to users of the system and the links to other IT systems within the Trust (GP's, Pathology &Radiology).

The postholder must have good IT application support knowledge/experience. This will require an understanding of the order and resulting processes for diagnostic services.

This role requires cross site travel between our three sites, Watford, St Albans and Hemel Hempstead.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for and provide 1st and 2nd line support to users in Pathology, Radiology and GP/Community Teams.

Ensure the IT Service Desk Incident and Request queues are monitored daily and high priority incidents actioned as appropriate.

Undertake training of new users as appropriate. Create and maintain user guides, application support processes surrounding the ICE Application.

SME on IT related issues relating to pathology ordering and resulting.

Supporting the wider EPR development and integration teams with EPR Order Comms build and changes.

Provide specialist advice as required, working with software suppliers and Atos to assess software, network and hardware requirements as necessary.

Perform daily checks on systems and escalate as appropriate any concerns.

General troubleshooting of Order Comms related IT issues.

Providing cross cover for other clinical applications as required.
