An opportunity has arisen for a band 4 to join the team of a busy Pre-operative Assessment department at St Albans City Hospital.
The hours are 37.5 hrs per week, 8am to 1800 hrs X4 days a week, Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job
The role of the Nursing Associate is to provide clinical support to the pre-operative team in the preparation of adult patients for elective surgery.
The Nursing Associate will function at a higher competency level than that of other Health Care Support workers. With responsibility for actively participating as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team within the dept. To provide a seamless service to patients with proximal supervision from a registered nurse/practitioner.
The Nursing Associate will provide general/specific care as specified below for a specific client group and will be competent to work across professional disciplines, referring patients for Allied Health Professional assessment and treatment or to other agencies as required. The post holder will be required to play an integral role in the delivery of basic clinical care. The post holder will work in support of registered nurses, Supervision and teaching of junior staff will be part of the role.
It is anticipated that this role will continue to develop through the acquisition of further skills, knowledge and competencies to be determined within the clinical team with the focus on patient needs.
