Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Resuscitation training department for a full time/part time band 6 Resuscitation Officer based at Watford General Hospital.
The successful applicant will be either a registered nurse, operating department practitioner, state registered paramedic or equivalent professional qualification, with appropriate post-registration experience.
Experience in an acute or critical care environment is essential as well as demonstrable experience in either adult or paediatric resuscitation. A substantial proportion of the resuscitation officer role will be delivery of life support training sessions to all grades of trust staff and you will, therefore, need to have proven teaching/assessing skills and ideally hold either an adult or paediatric advanced or immediate life support provider certificate or progressed to an instructor candidate.
Main duties of the job
As well as providing resuscitation training sessions, the post-holder will be expected - when possible - to attend adult and paediatric cardiac and peri arrest calls as a specialist member of the resuscitation team.
Applicants should be Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Immediate Life Support (ILS) instructors, preferably in either adult or paediatric resuscitation. However, as this may be a developmental post, consideration will be given to Immediate Life Support (ILS) or Paediatric Immediate Life support (PILS) providers with a view to completing an advanced life support course or progression to ILS/PILS instructor within 12 months of appointment.
The post-holder is expected to work across all sites within the Trust.
