Band 8d, Divisional General Manager, Surgery, Anaesthetics & Cancer
This job is now closed
Job summary
At West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust, we're an organisation that is working hard to achieve our vision of providing the very best care for every patient, every day. The great news is we're really starting to see the results of our efforts. We've seen real improvements in our clinical outcomes, staff related metrics and finances.
We have a large-scale redevelopment programme which will transform our sites and give our patients and colleagues within #teamwestherts the working environment they deserve. In addition, we are working with the ICS to create an elective hub which will radically increase the elective capacity and support the reduction in waiting lists.
We are now looking to cement this improvement by appointing a new Divisional Manager for our Surgery, Anaesthetics and Cancer Division.
The role will require provision of high-quality patient services that are clinically sound, delivered cost effectively and meet the Trust's priorities and performance targets. Currently there is an even greater need for the post holder to have developed strong skills in activity, capacity and demand planning to support delivery of national and local operational planning objectives and priorities and to support the division's elective recovery programme following the stand down of activity during the COVID peak. As Divisional manager you will play a major role in helping to lead, engage and motivate the Division's workforce.
Main duties of the job
As a Divisional Manager you will be responsible for the effective strategic, financial, and operational management of our services.
You will provide a key leadership role both within the Division and the services we support across the organisation.
You will possess excellent interpersonal skills that enable you to empower and lead others, ensuring that our teams continuously strive to develop and improve services for our patients.
This post will be supported by a strong divisional management and clinical leadership team.
We are committed to providing high quality, innovative services and the new post
