Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our forward thinking and highly regarded musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy Team.
This full time post is at Band 6 level. It is based at the West Hertfordshire Therapy Unit, Jacketts Field, Abbots Langley site, but we are looking for candidates who are open to home working if/when required. The successful candidate will be supported by a Therapy Team Lead as well as Band 8/Band 7 clinical Physiotherapists through a well-established probation, supervision and appraisal process. Our Band 6 tier provide robust peer support. We also offer in-service training opportunities and experience will be gained in the supervision of Band 5 Physiotherapists/other junior staff members as well as Physiotherapy students. There are also opportunities for paid study leave and/or course funding both internally/externally. Main duties of the job
In this role you will provide specialised assessment and treatment for patients with complex musculoskeletal needs, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme. You will provide expert advice, guidance and information to patients, health and social care professionals, carers and relatives and other non professionals.
You will communicate with relevant medical and nursing staff, social workers, and other health care professionals, and patients relatives and carers in order to facilitate a team approach to the provision of patient care.
You will be responsible for supervision, education and assessment of more junior physiotherapists, assistants and clerical staff.
You will additionally, supervise, educate and assess physiotherapy students; this would be to a graduate standard and involve working with universities to ensure the standard practice and teaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification.
You will undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to develop and enhance personal and team clinical practice. Make suggestions to clinical lead/manager of service for changes to practice by the team. Will assist in the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service protocols.
You will participate in virtual consultation model, when required.
You will participate in an extended hours and 7 day working pattern, once/if implemented.
