Job summary
We are looking to appoint a Governance co-Ordinator to the Medicine and Emergency Medicine Governance Team. The post holder will be a part of the team that leads Divisional Quality Governance and for the provision of practical support, expertise and facilitation across a wide range of patient safety and quality improvement activities.
This is a new post for the team and the role will play a key part in the support of the Medicine Quality Governance Facilitator and wider medical division primarily.
The post holder will work closely with the medicine and emergency medicine governance team supporting the delivery of quality and safety initiatives and assurance systems in the Trust.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will take an active role in enabling and facilitating key work-streams and quality improvement projects thereby supporting the delivery of high-quality care, compassion and a positive patient experience.
The post holder will provide support relating to the management and investigation of SIs, incident reporting, risk registers, complaints & claims, clinical audit plans and clinical effectiveness activity.
The post holder will be key in gathering and maintaining divisional evidence for action plans and quality improvement projects as well as the support of the QGF and Governance Lead in managing incidents and a wide range of assurance data.

- Effectively provide feedback on incident reporting to staff within the Divisions.
- Assist Ward Managers/Matrons/Departmental Heads/Leads to develop and monitor compliance with action plan time scales and provide assurances to the Divisional Governance and Quality Group.
- Raise the profile and importance of quality governance and risk management within the Divisions.
- Promote a learning culture within the Divisions which acknowledges the benefits of effective risk management and patient safety, in providing a safe environment and reducing risk to staff, patients, carers and visitors.
- Contribute information or sections to other Quality Governance reports as appropriate.
- Support effective communication and liaison with the complaints team within the Quality Governance Directorate.
- Ensure that evidence/documents to be relied upon are up-to-date and comply with the Trusts policy on policies.
- Support ensuring the Division properly imbeds and implements action plans following investigations.
- Monitor divisional compliance and response of C.Diff RCAs in co-ordination with the QGF and infection and prevention control team.
- Ensure that the Division undertakes Clinical Audits in accordance with the Clinical Audit Plan and that there is a robust process in place for participation in National Audits and evidencing the implementation of NICE Guidance.
