Job summary

Are you an experienced breastfeeding peer supporter or a qualified breastfeeding counsellor? Are you passionate about supporting volunteers to provide extra support to women and children during their hospital stay? Are you comfortable working in an acute hospital environment?A rewarding opportunity has arisen for a Volunteer Coordinator to look after our wonderful team of breastfeeding peer support volunteers and to introduce a team of neonatal parent peer support volunteers. The role will also include increasing volunteer support to the families attending across the maternity and paediatric services at Watford General hospital.This is a fixed term 12 month post with the potential to extend. Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for recruiting, vetting, training, supervising, and coordinating all WACS volunteers across West Herts hospitals. Ensure regular communication with the WACS staff to enable the smooth running of the services.

Identify new opportunities for WACS volunteers across the hospitals, including supporting quality improvement initiatives. Ensure all volunteers are actively engaged every week. Manage the volunteer rotas for WACS volunteers. Ensure monthly key performance indicators (KPIs) are met. Produce Interim and Annual reports for the WACS volunteering.
