Band 2 to 3 career progression - Oncology Pharmacy Assistant Technical Services
An ideal opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed individual to gain specialised skills within the technical team in Oncology Pharmacy.
You will join a team of oncology pharmacists, technicians and assistants who are committed to the development of pharmacy services to cancer patients and will have the opportunity to participate in new initiatives to improve our service to this patient group.
You should possess excellent communication skills with an awareness of the challenges of working within a healthcare setting, be visible and accessible with quality and standards as your priority. You will need to be flexible and resilient in order to cope with the demands of the role.
You will be a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to plan and work independently as well as being a good team player.
Main duties of the job
- This role includes
- Assist in the management of the delivery of products across the trust sites ensuring appropriate storage conditions are maintained.
- To participate in the daily duties of the technical support team. These are the preparations of worksheets, ordering of chemotherapy from outsources companies.
- The postholder with also ensure the allocation of patient specific is correct in response to the worksheet.
The work will be varied and challenging, working to tight schedules to achieve targets and deadlines.
The progression is reliant upon completion of training programmes, validations and competencies, alongside at least a years' experience within the role.
You will be based at Tunbridge Well's hospital within the pharmacy department.
This is a full-time post working 37.5 hours per week.
