Job summary
Fordcombe Hospital is in a pretty rural location on the outskirts of Tunbridge Wells near the village of Fordcombe. The hospital undertakes both NHS and Private treatment and examinations for patients over a wide range of specialities. It is a very friendly hospital with high standards of care and experienced staff.
Fordcombe Radiology Department consists of a MRI(1.5T) Scanner, CT Scanner, 2x Ultrasounds rooms (1 cardiac), X-Ray Room, Mammography Room, Mobile screening and Portable X-Ray equipment.
This position is to act as a Deputy to the Radiology Manager but also to be a central part of the CT and MRI team. The MRI is particularly busy so a good technical ability and knowledge of MRI systems is essential. Also, historical or current CT experience is beneficial. The MRI and CT scanners both undertake cardiac imaging so experience in this field is a definite advantage to applicants.
Main duties of the job
Deputy to Radiology Manager
Ability to make the right decisions under pressure and remain calm. Be able to give judgement on a variety of complex clinical, staffing and operational procedures.
Good organisation and leadership skills who pays attention to the detail.
Able to lead a team of CT and MRI Radiographers to produce the highest standards of imaging and competency.
MRI Specialist with high standards plus good experience and knowledge of MRI systems.
CT scanning.
Cardiac Imaging is an advantage.
To be able to assist and support radiographers with other modalities within the radiology department.
To support the radiology administration team.
To monitor, assist and ensure the correct billing of private patients within the department.
To train as a Radiation Protection Supervisor.
Be familiar with, and comply with, Trust policies and IRMER compliance.
