We are excited to advertise a new post within our Pharmacy Stores and Procurement team at Maidstone Hospital.
This is a new post as part of our strategy to centralise procurement of medicines at Maidstone Hospital
Our Pharmacy Technician team will ensure you have the best training to learn all about hospital contracts, support our invoicing clerk in investigating and resolving discrepancies, managing stocks efficiently and effectively, reduce medicines wastage and ensure best value procurement at all times and also give you opportunities to develop your other Pharmacy core skills eg dispensing, or accredited checking or medication management or high cost drugs/homecare.
Main duties of the job
We have a fantastic Pharmacy Stores and Procurement team who have extensive knowledge of medicines procurement, supply chains and also managing stocks on wards using innovative remote ward based Omnicell's and a recently refurbished robot. You will be able to 'learn from the best' and have opportunities to be involved in many projects, developing skills in audits and quality improvement projects within the team to optimise the use of medicines,
We have recently started Patient First huddles in our team and are excited to use this new process to make further improvements to our service
Our ideal candidate will understand the importance of the Pharmacy Technician role within Pharmacy; be passionate about Pharmacy, Healthcare, providing patient centre care and upholding the GPhC professional standards.
You will already be, or about to qualify as, a registered Pharmacy Technician. Hospital experience is not essential as we will provide all training.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the department's early/late rota and in our 1 in 6 weekend working rota.
