Job summary

This is a zero hour contract which maybe required at short notice.

This is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Biomedical Scientist to support our Point of Care Testing Team.

The department provides Point of Care Testing equipment across all areas of the Trust and is in the process of gaining UKAS accreditation.

The successful candidate will be reliable, enthusiastic, motivated and forward thinking.

Main duties of the job

They will be responsible in helping maintain the quality of the service within the department by ensuring the service adheres to Pathology and department procedures working towards compliance with ISO, regulatory and national requirements. They will assist coordinate and support the department with quality tasks such as audits, preparing monthly quality reports, assisting in investigating and resolving incidents, complaints etc.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science or equivalent
  • Master of Science degree (MSc) in a relevant subject or IBMS Higher Specialist Diploma or IBMS Fellowship examination or 120 credits in a postgraduate qualification(s) in relevant professional subjects including quality management.
  • Current State Registration (Healthcare Professions Council)
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable

  • Quality Management System qualification in healthcare
  • Management/ leadership course

Experience/knowledge

Essential

  • Proven experience in organising and prioritising multiple tasks and workloads to meet deadlines
  • Experience/ knowledge of UKAS accreditation process against ISO 15189: 2022 standards
  • Experience in undertaking audits, document control, change control practice, asset management, investigation and management of incidents including implementing corrective and preventive actions (CA/PA).
  • Experience of 'Q-Pulse' application

  • Experience of use of 'in phase'
