Job summary

We are pleased to share this exciting opportunity for an experienced Maternity Support Worker to join our Day Assessment Unit team caring for women and families at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.

This role will involve working with and supporting our friendly teams of experienced Day Assessment Unit Staff and contributing to the delivery of safe and high quality antenatal and postnatal care to women and families in the Antenatal Unit at Tunbridge Wells Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The job will involve assisting with the smooth and efficient running of the Maternity Day Assessment Unit, including performing administrative duties as well as skilled clinical procedures such as phlebotomy and maternal observations. You will be a valued member of the team and will assist in maintaining professional and clinical standards.

We are seeking caring, motivated and enthusiastic individuals with sound communication skills and a compassionate approach to providing women and family-centred care. The successful candidate should have recent, relevant experience of working in a care setting.

Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.

Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts Clinical Induction Programme for Clinical Support Workers (which starts on the first day of employment). The programme is full-time (please contact the CSW Induction Programme Lead if this is going to be problematic: rallen@nhs.net), lasts for two weeks and will involve travelling to both Trust sites. The programme includes 2 supernumerary shifts in the clinical area (an early and a late shift), all of the other days are classroom-based and run from 9am to 5pm

  • NVQ/Diploma level 3 in Healthcare or an equivalent healthcare qualification (competencies must have been assessed in a healthcare environment).

Knowledge & Experience
