Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a part time candidate to join our well-respected ENT Department at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells Hospital as a Patient Pathway Navigator for patients that are sent Straight to Test.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to interact with patients, clinicians, and other internal departments such as the Multidisciplinary Team. The post holder will have excellent interpersonal skills and a professional telephone manner, as well as empathy when speaking with patients.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for checking outcomes of patients attending clinic and facilitate booking of any required tests within deemed timescales.

You will be the point of contact for the next steps in patient pathways following an appointment or scan.

You will co-ordinate with the clinical team and internal departments regularly to ensure patients have a smooth transition throughout their pathway.

  • Educated to A-level, or Business Administration/Customer Care or acquired equivalent experience

  • NVQ 2 or equivalent experience

  • Experience of using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
  • Experience of scheduling outpatient appointments and/or admissions
