Job summary
An exciting opportunity for two full time motivated and focused Service Managers to join the Head & Neck Directorate at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
To provide full support to the management team within the Head & Neck Directorate including managing and leading the directorate CAU teams. The role will involve day to day operational management, involvement in administrative processes including assisting with planning of medical workforce rotas with partner directorates to make certain it remains compliant and cost effective. Working with the directorate management team and team leaders you will ensure that the service meets and achieves national performance indicators such as RTT, Cancer Targets and Diagnostic pathways, all quality, activity and financial target and indicators.
Provide support and ensure the management of technical support services meet patient and departmental needs. Maintain induction, annual leave and study leave records of medical and non-medical staff ensuring optimum availability. Liaise with staff and HR to resolve issues. Provide support to CAUs and departmental Team Leaders, in working safely and effectively whilst employed in the Trust. Deputise for the AGM, bookers and rota co-ordinator when required. Work with the GM and AGM monitoring progress on all CIP programmes. Facilitate and coordinator the development of CIP programmes for the service.
Main duties of the job
Assisting the Senior Management Team and wider team in the monitoring and achievement of national and locally agreed standards. This includes national service frameworks. Assist in the facilitation of the planning process for Head & Neck services covering activity, capacity, manpower and finance, support service developments and assist in the preparation of business cases, position papers and other reports as required. Work as part of the teams to ensure the national access indicators are met focusing on RTT, Cancer, Diagnostic & Surveillance targets for patients, waiting list and access outpatient appointments within the Trust wide targets.
In conjunction with the Senior Management Team, develop and maintain representation across the MTW sites to which the Directorate provides services for and deal with day to day operational issues and provide support to clinical groupings.
