This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join our forward thinking, compassionate, family focused neonatal leadership team.
We are seeking experienced Neonatal Nurses to increase our staffing and move forward with the planning for new roles for supernumerary Co-ordinators with additional specialist roles in the following: Family Integrated Care and Experience / Transitional Care/ Discharge Co-ordinator and Safeguarding Nurse / Risk and Governance / Data and Audit.
This will be in a phased approach:
Phase 1
Family Integrated Care and Family Experience Nurse
Transitional Care Nurse
Discharge Co-ordinator and Safeguarding Nurse
Phase 2
Risk and Governance Nurse
Data and Audit Nurse

These roles consist of supernumerary in charge shifts with protected time for the specialist role.
The Neonatal Unit is a Local Neonatal Unit (LNU) within the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Neonatal ODN, providing care for babies born from 27 weeks gestation. The unit is 18 bedded with two intensive care, four high dependency and 12 special care cots.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a purpose-built neonatal unit which supports an acute maternity service with approximately 5500-6000 deliveries per year. We are proud to have achieved Bliss Platinum status and are currently working towards stage 3 BFI accreditation.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be working closely with the Neonatal Matron, Ward Manager and team of band 7 specialist nurses (Parent Support Sister, Safeguarding and Clinical Educator) to ensure that the unit maintains the highest standard of care provision and promote best practice within the multidisciplinary team within the neonatal unit.
The post requires someone who is highly motivated to make a difference and interested in being involved to develop the service further. Successful candidates will have to show commitment to the team, providing expert clinical knowledge alongside excellent management and leadership skills

Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please emailmtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.netif this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.
