Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated physiotherapist to join our musculoskeletal outpatient service at Maidstone Hospital to cover maternity leave. This post will suit individuals who have completed their core junior rotations within the NHS who are looking to consolidate and further develop their skills in an outpatient environment.

You will be supported by experienced senior staff and will have the opportunity to develop both clinically and managerially, working with junior staff and students. The departments offer a friendly and supportive working environment which actively supports Continuing Professional Development, through an established appraisal system, in-service training, and post graduate library facilities.

Main duties of the job

This post offers an opportunity to gain experience treating a wide variety of patients from rheumatology, pain team, occupational health, vestibular and a large Orthopaedic caseload as we are an Adult Trauma Unit.

Alongside a clinical caseload it will expected that you will take an active role in managing junior members of staff and students as well as participating and leading on project developments within the department.

Essential

  • Diploma / degree in physiotherapy
  • Health Professions Council Registration
  • Evidence of CPD including attendance at recent postgraduate courses relevant to the clinical field.

Desirable

  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
  • Hydrotherapy qualification and/or experience
  • Evidence of working in the NHS within the Musculoskeletal Out Patients speciality at Band 5/6 level.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working as part of a physiotherapy team and/or multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribution to clinical education of less experienced staff or students or assistants.
  • Good level of clinical knowledge and skill in musculoskeletal field having completed Band 5 rotations in this area and have evidence of working at Band 6 level.
