Job summary

To be the link between the Critical Care Directorate and the team responsible for the design, configuration and testing of the Trust's Electronic Patient Record System (EPR), including the Theatre Management system and any clinical systems which impact the surgical care pathway.

To maintain, ensure accuracy of and support mandatory data collection to evidence theatre utilisation and efficiency. Supporting a large and diverse workforce in the training for use implementation and reporting of theatre systems.

Main duties of the job

  • To participate in the Functional Design Groups alongside key stakeholders from within the Trust to ensure that the system is design and configured to meet agreed workflow.
  • To become a Super user of the Theatre Management System that investigates and resolve complex system / usability issues
  • To provide support for deployment of the digital transformation development before and during go live implementation
  • To develop, implement and maintain system related documentation
  • To support and maintain effective theatre utilization by supervision of the 6-4-2 process, ensuring prescribed safety and efficiency standards are adhered to.
  • To support the production of theatre utilization and productivity reports as requested.

  • Degree in IT/healthcare or equivalent experience within an operating theatre environment and health care informatic systems

Desirable

  • Qualification in computer programming / sciences

  • Proven experience in testing and training
  • Understanding of information management systems
  • Demonstrable IT service support and/ or software change and configuration experience working within an IT service management team.

Desirable

  • Good knowledge and past relevant experience in EPR
  • Experience in using MTW clinical and/or PAS systems
  • Experienced in using NHS or other organisations' bespoke software applications
  • Experience working in the NHS working within An Operating Theatre Environment or similar environment
