Job summary

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is looking for an experienced, dynamic CCAB/CIMA qualified Accountant to take on a Finance Manager role supporting the Kent and Medway Pathology Network which iscurrently hosted by Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.

The Kent and Medway Pathology Network is a formal partnership of seven laboratories across three pathology services in four acute Trusts. Our 800 colleagues provide services across the health and care sector to a population of nearly 2 million.

We are at an exciting point of our network development with a new clinical director and managing director leading transformation including a single Laboratory Information Management System, Managed Equipment Service and digital projects. We are developing a clinical strategy enabling pathology to drive change and improvement in patient pathways and population health.

Main duties of the job

This Finance Manager role will be the first point of contact for the network, delivering month end reporting, business planning, Cost Improvement Plan analysis, developing costings, and supporting the development of business cases and options appraisals.

In order to support partnership working, the successful candidate will build and develop key relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues within the Clinical and Non Clinical Divisions

You will be a self-motivated, pro-active individual with strong time management and organisational skills. You will have excellent communication, influencing and analysis skills. Advanced Excel skills and experience managing large and varied datasets are also requirements of this role.

You should have experience in financial management and excellent technical and communication skills.

This is a challenging role that offers the right candidate the opportunity to thrive and develop within a supportive finance team, as well as contribute to the improving the efficiency and offering of the finance function to the organisation.

You will be joining a dynamic Finance team that has recently received accreditation with ACCA and CIMA accountancy bodies as well as being shortlisted by the Health Service Journal (HSJ) for the finance team of the year.
