Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a part time Rheumatology Therapy Audit monitor within the Nursing Allied Health Administration Unit at Tunbridge Wells Hospitals.
A good range of administrative skills, including basic knowledge of medical terminology, keyboard/word-processing etc is required including correct data input. The ability to organise your day and work as part of a team are also desirable. Applicants should be confident, self-motivated and be able to demonstrate good communication and organisational skills, along with a flexible approach to duties. The applicant should be able to demonstrate an interest to learn new skills. They should also hold relevant administration with word-processing qualification and ideally have previous NHS / medical experience.
Main duties of the job
- This position plays a key role in assisting the Rheumatology Team in safely monitoring the blood results of patients who have been prescribed disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs. The monitoring is done through a software system called TA monitor which picks up regular blood results of patients for MTW NHS Trust. The TA monitor administrator has responsibility for operating the system, printing all abnormal results that are flagged and alerting clinics to patients with abnormal.
- In addition, the database needs to be regularly updated and any changes to drugs must be recorded in order to ensure that the system operates safely. The postholder needs to use different sources of information to update the database, including PAS and document viewer facility. Pathology and notes from clinicians as they see patients in clinic.
- This position also incorporates an administrative role supporting TNF Co-ordinator with scanning and patient telephone calls as well as occasionally supporting Med Secs if requested in an emergency.
- Undertaking with the Team, both formal and informal review of the success and the development of this post within the team.
