This is a 12 month secondment post working 37.5 hours per week. We welcome interested individuals to contact us to arrange an informal visit to the ward. This role will involve developing further skills and knowledge in relation to patient care, managerial/team leadership duties and assisting in developing the Acute Medical Unit ( AMU) and the Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC).
Main duties of the job
The Acute Medical Unit is a 28 bedded ward with open bays. AMU assesses the condition of patients who have been referred from the Emergency Department, Same Day Emergency Care unit (SDEC) or direct from a GP. You will also be provided with the opportunity to work within our developing Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC) unit as this helps to support the flow of patients through the Emergency Department.
You will receive support in your new role and will be encouraged in further development. You will be fully supported by the ward, Practice Development Nurse and Clinical Skills Facilitators in achieving all the required competency.
