An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker to join our busy 10 bedded Women's Surgical Ward which incorporates Emergency Gynaecology Assessment Unit.
Ward 33 cares for patients with both Gynaecological and Surgical conditions.
The Emergency Gynaecology Assessment Unit (EGAU) is also open 24/7, running clinics as well as taking referrals from ED and GP's amongst other Healthcare settings.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to support our patients and staff in both areas. If you are enthusiastic, well motivated and able to work in a fast paced environment we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for delivering high quality patient care with direct supervision from the registered nurse. Excellent communication skills, flexibility and time management are essential skills needed for this post to ensure the patient's journey through their hospital stay is as comfortable as possible. Good standards of documentation are expected along with a commitment to working in a kind and compassionate manner.

Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.
Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts Clinical Induction Programme for Clinical Support Workers (which starts on the first day of employment). The programme is full-time (please contact the CSW Induction Programme Lead ifthis is going to be problematic: rallen@nhs.net),lasts for two weeks and will involve travelling tobothTrust sites.Theprogramme includes 2 supernumerary shiftsin the clinical area (an early and a late shift),all of the other days are classroom-based andrun from 9am to 5pm

- Functional skills English and maths level 1 or GCSE English and maths grade G/1 or above.
- NVQ/Diploma level 2 in Healthcare (competencies assessed in a healthcare environment) or equivalent healthcare qualification, e.g. successful completion of a level 2 Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship.
- Internal applicants only: In the absence of the above qualifications, the job holder will be required to successfully complete a level 2 Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship within the first 13 months of employment.
