Job summary
The overall purpose of the Clinical Support Facilitator role is to support the development of the nursing staff in the paediatric and adult ED's cross site. You will be responsible for supporting new members of staff to the paediatric nursing department to develop their skills, knowledge, competence and confidence in the care of infants and children within the speciality. This will include the delivery of paediatric clinical skills, preceptorship, induction and dynamic practice development programmes aimed to support clinical workforce development. Priorities such as evidenced based clinical practice across practice and ensuring clinical competency sign off for ED nursing staff.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will need to work autonomously but closely with the ED PDN, unit manager and other members of the education team. The role entails clinical bedside teaching and face to face teaching of small and large groups.Whilst this is a clinical practice development role there may be times when paediatric non-clinical training requires support.This is an exciting opportunity to support the skills and training development necessary for a broad range of staff and trainees toensure safe and outstanding patient care. The post holder will be expected to act as a resource and provide education relating to children's nursing care.

Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email mtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.net if this is problematic)and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.
Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at Enhanced Level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children)
