Job summary

The Trust is looking for an experienced and dynamic procurement professionals to help it deliver its challenging savings targets.

This role reports directly into the Head of Category Management .

The core attributes required in the role are; the ability to source and analyse data, influence stakeholders to accept change, improve the patient pathway and experience, work to a specific plan and support and inspire the team to work more strategically and commercially.

Main duties of the job

Ideally you will have experience of managing complex project spends with a value in excess of £500k, experience of procuring capital equipment (CAPEX) and a clear and proven track record of procurement savings with a strong commercial acumen.

You will have a strong background in delivering commercial success and will need to be a team player, strong communicator, experienced negotiator, innovative thinker and a patient.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a strong track record in delivering savings in a stakeholder driven organisation.

About us

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.

The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 760,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.

The Trust's core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients - the first of its kind in the country.

We employ more than 7,000 full and part-time staff in a huge range of clinical and non-clinical roles across both of our hospital sites.

  • Significant Purchasing and Supply experience or equivalent
