Job summary

There is an exciting opportunity to join the Kent and Medway Pathology Network Digital Pathology Implementation team as the IT lead for the development, implementation and roll out of the the Leica, Paige and Redcentric system. The post holder would work within the current small team who have delivered the approved business case and would work across the Network (Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust and East Kent University Hospitals Foundation Trust) to facilitate all interactions of the interested parties, delivering a robust and resilient and fully integrated Digital pathology reporting system over the lifetime of the project.

The successful applicant will have an interest in project development, a knowledge and understanding of complex IT systems and their development, good communications skills and an ability to work within NHS services and laboratories.

Main duties of the job

To work with the Digital Pathology network team to manage the implementation, maintenance and development of the Digital Pathology systems across Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust and East Kent University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in conjunction with ICT services and the application managers within Cellular Pathology.

To ensure maximum availability, reliability, intraoperability and performance from the Digital Pathology systems and that they continue to meet the network pathology requirements.

To work with the Pathology IT managers ensuring full involvement of all relevant systems and parties.

  • oDegree level or equivalent proven practical experience
  • oRelevant professional qualification (e.g. MCSE/ IT related GNVQ/ or HCPC registration etc) or relevant experience in Health Care setting

Desirable

  • Project Management (PRINCE2 Foundation or other equivalent project management qualification)

Experience/Knowledge

  • oAt least three years' experience of working with complex computer systems with a strong understanding of the principles of computer system validation.
  • oTrack record of managing change using interpersonal and communications skills.
