Job summary
This post holder will oversee their own case load of complex inquests, safeguarding enquiries and claims, to include investigation, statement taking, advocacy and support to the junior members of the team in giving advice and direction in their portfolio of cases, escalating to the Head of Legal Services any potential high risks to the Trust.
They will support the team in any complex medico- legal enquiries and advice.
The post holder will also be required to support the Head of Legal Services in the delivery of a high-quality legal services training packages to the wider Trust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure excellent systems and processes are in place within our legal team facilitating high standards of legal services provision for our employees and patients
The successful candidate will lead the team and their own caseloads to ensure the prompt, efficient and detailed investigation and management of a portfolio of claims and inquests and complex safeguarding issues. Ensuring the prompt, efficient disclosure of witness statement and healthcare records to third parties.
You will work with the Head of Legal Services to, provide technical guidance and support to the legal team members with claims investigations to ensure high quality analysis and risk management.
You will be expected to analyse complex legal data and producing monthly reports and data for our Trust committees and Directorates as required. ensuring this data is accurate.

- Capsticks Diploma in Risk and Claims Management or equivalent

- High standard of written and spoken Professional English even under challenging situations
