Foundation Pharmacist - Band 6 + Emergency Duty Commitment1.0 wte Maidstone HospitalWe have an exciting opportunity to join our clinical pharmacy team. You will be supported in your role and development by our specialist principal pharmacists and we encourage and support all foundation pharmacists to undertake the postgraduate diploma in general pharmacy practice.The post will be rotational through a number of specialties e.g. Stroke, Frailty, Patient services, Surgery, Medical Admissions, Respiratory, Cardiology and Oncology. There are also opportunities for cross-site rotations e.g. paediatrics/medicines information and external rotations in general practice. Future plans for an exciting mental health rotation are also in progress.You will play an essential role in optimising patient care during their hospital stay and at discharge. You will be an important part of the multi-disciplinary team; liaising with doctors, nurses and other allied healthcare professionals.Our department excels in nurturing talent and developing foundation pharmacists into senior members of the team. We will provide you with opportunities to flourish in your role.As part of the role you will also take part in our weekend, Bank Holiday, late night and on-call rotas.

Maidstone Hospital provides care to local patients, specialities on site include; A&E, admissions, cardiology, gastroenterology, stroke, respiratory, frailty, elective surgery, intensive care, ophthalmology, oncology and HIV services. Pharmacy has a high profile in the Trust and we have well established clinical teams and clinical services.
We are an innovative and dynamic team and have developed new ways of working to improve patient care and experience in our hospital. We have excellent working relationships with our sister hospital at Tunbridge Wells, our neighbouring Mental Health Trust, Kent & Medway ICB, Medway School of Pharmacy and local community pharmacies.
The Trust implemented our EPMA system in November 2022 and we have lots of opportunities for further study and developing your pharmacy career

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.
The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 760,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.
