Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a full-time IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) Administrator within the Nursing Allied Health Administration Unit working cross site at both Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells hospitals.
The post-holder will require an excellent range of secretarial and administrative skills, including a solid knowledge of medical terminology, audio typing experience and excellent customer care experience is essential. The ability to organise your day and work as part of a team are also required. Applicants should be confident, self-motivated and be able to demonstrate good communication and organisational skills, along with a flexible approach to duties. The applicant should be able to demonstrate an interest to learn new skills.
Main duties of the job
The Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) Service provides access for patients with IBD to intravenous medications including biologics therapy (Infliximab and Adalimumab) and iron therapy.
The post holder would provide all administrative duties for the IBD Service, ensuring that all patient appointments and admissions are dealt with efficiently utilising appropriate trust electronic systems. Typing clinic letters.
The post holder is responsible for providing an efficient, organised clerical service to the IBD team, including ensuring that all necessary medical records are available to them for the relevant patient admissions
Work collaboratively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to meet the needs of patients and their families
The post holder must also assist in the collection, organisation and input of relevant patient data into the local and national biologics registry/database, working in collaboration with the wider MDT to ensure that adequate accurate records are kept
The post holder would be responsible for the maintenance and updating of the relevant information on the IBD Internal intranet page (internal server only) as directed by the lead of department
Provide administrative support and co-ordinate the weekly biologics team meeting
Undertaking with the AGM, both formal and informal review of the success and the development of this post within the team.
