Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a full time Medical Secretary within our Acute Medicine & Geriatrics Department of the Clinical Administration Unit at Tunbridge Wells Hospital.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional secretarial skills and proven experience audio typing with a medical background. The role will also involve assisting the team in booking outpatient clinic appointments so knowledge of appointments, clinics and waiting lists will also be beneficial .
The candidate should demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, be a team player, be self-motivated, able to prioritise a busy workload, work to deadlines, have a flexible approach to duties and hold a relevant secretarial / audio / word-processing qualification ideally with previous NHS /medical experience (or equivalent) however, this is not essential.
Flexible working will also be considered.
Hybrid working - working both from home and also on site will also be considered.
Main duties of the job
Youshould be self-motivated with the ability to work in a busy and pressured environment. You should be able to demonstrate good communication and organisational skills, along with a flexible approach to duties.
You should also hold relevant secretarial or audio typing qualifications and have previous secretarial or PA experience. Knowledge and experience within the health sector would be beneficial but not essential.

Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients - the first of its kind in the country.
