Job summary

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust are looking for a Senior Clinical Coordinator to work in the Kent Oncology Centre.

This is an exciting and challenging role within the Oncology Clinical Coordinator team.

This post is based at the Kent Oncology Centre, Maidstone Hospital. You would have an opportunity to make a direct positive impact on patient experience within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

You will over see the Clinical Coordinator team whilst still keeping a hand in the role. You should have knowledge of Allscripts, KOMS or similar systems and an awareness of National Patient Access targets with administrative experience; an excellent telephone manner and are competent using Word Office and Excel with good keyboard skills. Customer service experience is essential.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.

The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 760,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.

The Trust's core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients - the first of its kind in the country.

We employ more than 7,000 full and part-time staff in a huge range of clinical and non-clinical roles across both of our hospital sites.

  • Educated to A Level standard
  • NVQ III or relevant experience

Knowledge

  • Previous experience of leading a team in a customer service environment
  • In depth knowledge of NHS PAS and EPR or similar administration system
  • Good understanding of wider NHS relationships between GPs and acute hospitals
  • Understanding of the requirements regarding patient confidentiality
