As a band 7 Orthopaedic Physiotherapist be a source of highly specialist knowledge and clinical expertise in order to jointly lead the rehabilitation of patients in the orthopaedic wards and in our elective centres including the new Kent and Medway Orthopaedic centre We are also inviting applications from those with Band 6 level NHS experience who are ready to develop Band 7 level competence.

The department are not able to support international recruits within this specialty at this time

Main duties of the job

You will have experience of working as part of an MDT and ensuring the clinical development of yourself and others and will demonstrate the ability to case manage through an understanding of the full patient pathway. You will be supported by experienced senior staff and will have the opportunity to develop both clinically and managerially, working with junior staff and students, depending on your level of experience.

We offer a friendly and supportive working environment which actively supports Continuing Professional Development, through an established appraisal system, in-service training, and post graduate library facilities. You will be required to travel between the sites of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells. You will be part of a 7 day service providing orthopaedic physiotherapy

Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.

  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC State Registered Physiotherapist
  • Post graduate training to MSc level or equivalent in Orthopaedics or Musculoskeletal

Desirable

  • Member of a professional body (CSP)
  • Member of a special interest group
  • Accredited Clinical Educator

Experience

Essential

  • Post graduate experience in the NHS, including working at a senior level within orthopaedics
  • Previous experience of managing junior staff & student supervision/education
  • Evidence of validated post graduate courses/CPD
  • Supervisory experience

Knowledge

  • Awareness/experience in clinical audits and research
