An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an inspirational, energetic and experienced Nurse Hysteroscopist to join the Rapid Access Service at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. As an individual, you will act as an expert in this specialist area and have experience within wider gynaecology. We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable candidate who can support the development of the service, deliver the highest standard of patient care and demonstrate our Trust Values.

The post holder will be responsible for the management of a defined caseload and will provide highly specialist nursing support, advice, education and/or care to that specific group. They will carry continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, including setting of standards of care, and support in establishing evidence-based practice within hysteroscopy.

The ideal candidate would be a qualified nurse with NMC registration and be an accredited Hysteroscopist with BSGE/RCOG, who will be willing and able to adapt to change and to work individually within their level of competence. The post holder will be expected to motivate others and be an excellent role model. You will work closely with the lead clinicians to improve operational efficiency and enhance the performance of the Rapid Access service.

Main duties of the job

The Nurse Hysteroscopist will work as an integral member of the Gynaecology multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate care and service requirements are achieved in line with both the divisional and Trust strategies. Complex clinical management, strategic planning, education, research and audit are key components of the role. The Nurse Hysteroscopist will assess diagnose and manage the care of patients referred to the service in accordance with National, Regional and local hysteroscopy/Rapid Access protocols. The post holder will exercise advanced clinical expertise, levels of judgement, discretion and safe clinical decision making in clinical care acting at all times within their professional scope of practice. They will provide advanced clinical skills and advice demonstrating a sound understanding of the issues related to the identification, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients in accordance with regulatory frameworks and policy. They will provide clinical support and advice across organisational boundaries in line with the Trusts strategic vision.

Together with the Rapid Access Consultants the post holder will work effectively to co-ordinate and deliver an expert nursing service within the specialist area, managing their own nurse-led outpatient clinics, and in collaboration with the Rapid access team advise on appropriate treatment plans.
