There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced specialist Biochemistry BMS to join our Clinical Biochemistry team, in the Blood Sciences Department of Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust (MTW) . Both Permanent and Fixed Term Contracts available.
Are you a suitably experienced, highly motivated HCPC registered BMS, who has completed the IBMS specialist portfolio or equivalent qualification? Who understands the requirements of a quality-driven clinical biochemistry service, is able to work under pressure, work flexibly using your own initiative and possess excellent communication skills?
Clinical Biochemistry based on both sites providing a 24/7*continuous service and offers a broad range of experiences via internal rotation. The laboratory iswell equipped with Roche (Chemistry and Immunoassay), Sebia (electrophoresis), Dynex Technologies DS2 (ELISA), Menarini(HPLC) analysers.
Main duties of the job
On attaining appropriate competencies, you will be expected to fully participate in the out of hours rota which will include some weekend, evening and overnight duties and they will then be eligible for the Recruitment & Retention premium in addition to normal AfC unsocial hours payments. You will be based at either MGH or TWH although cross site working will be required as the service demands.
The departmenthasfull training status with theIBMS and ISO 15189 accreditation. Support for further education will be given for IBMS expert practice / Higher specialist diploma and other post graduate qualification, including MSc.
We are able to offer £8000 relocation expenses (subject to meeting essential criteria) and up to £4,707 recruitment and retention premium pro rata per annum * in addition to support for learning and development.

Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please emailmtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.netif this is problematic)and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.
