Job summary

An exciting new opportunity has become available to join our friendly booking team at Tunbridge Wells Hospital in the Women's and Children's Clinical Administration Unit as Senior Booking Clerk.

You will support the Women's CAU Team Leader, liaising with other departments, patients and relatives, as well as clinical colleagues to ensure that patient admissions are appropriately planned and managed. The successful candidate will have their own booking responsibilities and will supervise the booking clerks within our Women's booking team to ensure that all admin related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met with remedial actions put in place when necessary.

You should be resilient, motivated, organised, work well under pressure and have exceptional communication skills. Previous experience of working within a CAU with a good knowledge of Allscripts and RTT pathways would be ideal.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will take a lead role in managing the Directorate waiting lists for Gynaecology, in accordance with Government Access Targets and the Trust's Access Policy.
  • The post holder will work as part of the Clinical Administrative Unit to coordinate the administrative pathway of patients to ensure that waiting time targets are not breached.
  • Will plan and co-ordinate patient admissions or appointments and required to work in close liaison with senior managers, consultants, patients and the general public.
