Job summary

Working independently or in a small team. Undertake both reactive Electrical repairs and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programme to help prolong the life expectancy of equipment.

To carry out routine duties independently where appropriate to competency, health and safety and with minimal supervision.

Receiving jobs and recording the status and completion of work that is carried out via a handheld electronic pad.

The post holder will respond to emergency and urgent repair requests in a timely and effective manner, restoring services where possible or making potential dangerous conditions safe

You will ideally hold relevant C&G, NVQ or higher qualifications.

Main duties of the job

To undertake a range of Electrical procedures for installation ,repair and routine maintenance of new, refurbished, existing industrial/commercial and domestic equipment services, whilst at all times observing all relevant health and safety guidelines and regulations.

Undertake other non-Electrical duties where skills, abilities and competence are appropriate for such and has been approved by supervisor such as Nurse call systems which you will have training on

Interpret and work from site drawings, specifications,risk assessment, method statement, permit to work, work dockets etc.

  • Recognised trade qualifications i.e. C&G, NVQ, or equivalent specialist training on Electrical systems

Desirable

  • Certificated training courses on Electrical systems i.e 18th Edition, City & Guilds, P.AT

Experience/ Knowledge

Essential

  • Relevant trade experience i.e currently working in an Electrical position
  • Ability to undertake and complete reactive and planned maintenance work on the installations within their competency.
  • Practical knowledge of LV systems

Desirable

  • Experience of working in an Hospital/Care setting/NHS environment
  • Skilled in either Electrical Maintenance or Electrical instalation work
  • Understanding of HTM's, statutory and compliance requirements

Skills

Essential

  • Ability to undertake and complete reactive and planned maintenance work
  • Ability to fault-find on Electrical equipment within their competency.
  • Basic understanding of Electrical Plant ie motors,pumps,fans etc

Desirable

  • Use of CAFM or similar software packages such as QFM
  • Able to use Microsoft Office programmes appropriately.
