Job summary
The Medical Education Department is responsible for developing, managing and delivering a range of high quality and cost effective medical educational services within the Trust to specifications required by the General Medical Council, Health Education Kent Surrey & Sussex, associated Medical Schools and the Trust's strategic and operational framework.
Based in the Trust Academic Centre the post holder will be responsible for the reception of all visitors and act as "front of house", promoting at all times an approach that is helpful, customer focussed and professional.
The post holder will carry out a range of duties to enable the smooth running of the Centre.
Main duties of the job
Deliver all aspects of the department agenda unsupervised including acting as "front of house" contact for all staff development. Responding to enquiries, whether received by post, telephone, electronically or in person in a prompt, efficient and professional manner.
Be responsible for the day to day image, presentation and security of the centre facilities and equipment to ensure the department meets its service and quality objectives to its customers.
Support all members of the Trust's teaching staff (internal and external) in the organisation of an ongoing programme of training events. Positively manage the combined training events.
Ensure all communication (verbal and written, electronic and paper, internal and external customers) is professionally executed and delivered with sensitivity and patience, at all times but particularly when dealing with potential conflict situations, e.g. short notice course cancellations/amendments; mandatory processes; minimum standards; room/equipment bookings pressures; staff expectations vs. Trust learning priorities etc.
Record, monitor and report activities in accordance with policy.
Recommend continuous improvements in service and processes, to ensure the quality of the Centre support to the Trust keeps apace with all modernisation programmes and service requirements.
The position is for 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
