An exciting opportunity has arisen for the Ward Manager to work in the Day Care Surgery, Kent and Medway Orthopaedic Centre at Maidstone Hospital.
This role is for an experienced leading or senior Nurse looking for a new challenges.
You will be leading the team, working closely with management and other healthcare professionals, as well as supervising, supporting and developing junior staff, encouraging the delivery of high-quality care and experiences to patients.
Main duties of the job
To manage the day to day running of the department, ensuring aneffective and efficient nursing service within available resources.
To ensure 24 hour provision of high quality patient centred care.
To be responsible for the safe and effective running of the Unitensuring appropriate coordination of patients to maintain an effectiveflow through the unit.
To act as link between the department and other areas of theDirectorate and the Trust. To lead the department in the developmentof Directorate, Trust and NHS initiatives. To create and maintain apositive learning environment in the department for the multidisciplinaryteam.
To develop strong links with all other Departments in the hospital toensure the smooth transfer of patients and a continuous workingrelationship.
To take part in the Unit's development activities as part of a forwardthinking senior faculty.

Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email mtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.net if this is problematic)and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.
Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at Enhanced Level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children)
