Job summary
You should be highly motivated, enthusiastic and pro-active. You will work as part of the nursing team in supporting the ward manager to run an effective and safe ward. Ward 22 treats patients throughout their treatment pathway providing individualised, compassionate and informed care.
You will:
- deliver high quality, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (or other registered care professional dependent on setting) with a focus on promoting health and independence.
- have proficient attitudes and behaviours compatible with NHS Values.
- work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual.
- carry out specific delegated clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse or other registered care professionals dependent on setting.
Main duties of the job
To work according to the 'NMC Code: Professional standards of practice and behaviour for Nurses, Midwives and Nursing Associates' and, under direction of a Registered Nurse, contribute to the:
- assessment of patients' nursing care and health education needs;
- development, implementation and evaluation of care for each patient.
The post holder should be proficient in carrying out relevant care at the level expected of a Nursing Associate registrant without direct supervision.

Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email mtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.net if this is problematic)and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.
Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at Enhanced Level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children)
