Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen on our Elective Orthopaedic / Trauma Ward. We are looking for an additional Junior Sister/ Charge Nurse who is dedicated and passionate about providing the best possible care for our patients, and will share our vision and values in best practice. Ward 30 is an Elective Orthopaedic / Trauma Ward specialising in joint replacement surgery. We also take direct admissions from fracture clinic and A&E.
We require someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as an organised person with a positive attitude who is flexible and proactive. You should have excellent leadership skills and be a good role model as you will be required to lead junior members of the team and support learners.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for managing and coordinating patient care on the ward, completing thorough nursing assessments, patient feedback surveys, participating in audits as well as supporting the Ward Manager with length of stay and delivering and improving the quality of care within the ward. Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.
Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email mtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.net if this is problematic)and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.
Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at Enhanced Level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children)
