Job summary

We are expanding our acute frailty team and are looking to include physician associates in the team. As a key member of the clinical team the Physician Associate will work in conjunction with the Acute frailty team. We require two PA's to join the team to be based at either Maidstone or Tunbridge Wells; however the post holder will be expected to cover either site to maintain cover.

The role will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and implementation, crisis intervention, medications, staff consultation. The role will support other services as needed for patient flow as well as contributing to decision making for patients to be admitted, transferred or discharged.

Main duties of the job

We already have physician associates in surgery and trauma and orthopaedics and have a fortnightlyeducation session specifically for PAs as well as annual appraisal and support for re certification and gaining the experience required to attain ongoing registration

Duties will include

To participate in clinical and other service activities and developments with the aim of ensuring a high standard of patient care across the Trust.

To work in close co-operation with other medical, professional and managerial colleagues, both within and outside the specialty, to provide high quality health care to the Trust's patients, and to make a contribution to future thinking about the Trust's strategic direction

You will be expected to attend the Trusts 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email mtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.netif this is problematic)and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.
