Job summary

To manage Therapeutic Radiography education and training for pre-registration education commissions and post-registration practitioners to enable radiographer development and the introduction of new roles to ensure safe practice, effective patient care and delivery on objectives for therapeutic radiography workforce strategy , across both sites (Maidstone and Canterbury)

Work with the Head of Radiotherapy Services and management team to provide leadership and management support to the Trust's Cancer Services.

You will drive the education and development of the staff, developing strategies to enhance staff recruitment, staff engagement and career development.

Main duties of the job

  • To lead on the management of clinical placements for pre-registration therapeutic radiography students within the trust. Lead on the education and training of radiotherapy workforce, developing strategies to enhance staff recruitment, staff engagement and career development.
  • Work with the Radiotherapy Management on strategic development of education commission numbers of pre-registration therapeutic radiography workforce, and collaborating with HEI's and HEEKSS. Incorporating the analysis of data relating to placement capacity. Making judgements regarding the number of places available base on expert knowledge regarding education and future workforce requirements. Preventing conflict and ensuring best interests of the profession and the organization.
  • Work with the Radiotherapy Management team to ensure education, training and continuous professional development needs of the Radiotherapy workforce are met to ensure safe practice and effective patient care.
  • Lead on the development, implementation and evaluation of preceptorship programmes for newly appointed staff and international recruits.
