An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of General Manager for Pathology. This is a hands-on, operational role to drive improvement and deliver national and local targets for urgent and emergency care. This role will work closely with the Clinical Director and Head of Service for Pathology to deliver the departments operational and strategic agenda and includes the management of the Pathology administrative operational team.
This opportunity will suit strong, performance driven and proactive leaders from an operational background who enjoy working autonomously in a fast-paced and changeable environment. You will have experience of budgetary management, staff management and be able to meet the peaks and troughs of service demand.
Main duties of the job

The General Manager, along with the Clinical Director and Head of Service is accountable for the delivery of the Directorates objectives by providing the leadership, drive and direction to ensure delivery. The post holder will develop, deliver, monitor and improve services within the Directorate, meeting all national and local targets and delivering best quality patient care and experience within financial control, resources and targets.

Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients the first of its kind in the country.
