Job summary

Orthodontics & Restorative Dentistry Department - Glenfield Hospital, with cross site working to Leicester Royal Infirmary.

We are a busy department involved in the management of a wide and complicated range of Restorative and Orthodontic conditions and have close links with the Maxillofacial Department at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. We are looking to recruit a self-motivated and enthusiastic person to join our dedicated team of Dental Nurses to cover both sites.

You will need to be well organized and capable of working under pressure. Day to day running of dental surgeries and caring for our patients within both departments would be your main role. Experience of working in Orthodontics, Restorative Dentistry or a surgical setting is desirable and although experience of working in a hospital environment would be an advantage it is not essential.

Cross Site working is essential to this role.

Main duties of the job

Applicants must hold the National Certificate for Dental Nurses or equivalent.

Main duties of the job

To take a corporate responsibility for all areas of the Orthodontic and Restorative Dentistry and Maxillofacial Departments. To take individual responsibility within their allocated area for the support and care of all patients including emergency, priority and routine referrals, high risk and complicated clinical cases of all types.

Under the supervision of the Senior Dental Nurse, to have the responsibility for the organisation and clinical nursing care within the Orthodontics & Restorative Dentistry and Maxillofacial departments.

About us

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:

  • high-quality care for all,
  • being a great place to work,
  • partnerships for impact, and
  • research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:

  • we are compassionate,
  • we are proud,
  • we are inclusive, and
  • we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
