Part time 18.75 hoursAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and driven pharmacy technician to join our respiratory pharmacy team to work with the allergy specialist service.
Main duties of the job
- To operationally lead the dedicated specialist pharmacyservice for the CMG/service area. To identify, plan anddevelop new opportunities for the CMG/service area.
- To be responsible for the management and coordination ofthe clinical technical support team ensuring accurate andtimely dispensing and supply of medicines, MedicinesReconciliation and Medicine's Management to all servicesusers including in-patients, out-patients, ward staff clinicstaff, medical staff and staff from the pharmacy department.
- To lead development and delivery of training of pharmacyand non-pharmacy staff within CMG to understand pharmacyrequirements in the CMG/service setting.To link in with thePharmacy Professional Development and Clinical Assuranceteam when training pharmacy staff.
- To be responsible for ensuring quality monitoring systemsare developed, implemented and agreed and that targetsand standards are set.
- To oversee processes relating to the financial and ITsystems management relevant to the service.
- Contribute to the Pharmacy Department Senior TechnicianOperational rota, providing support to our three hospital sites

The Trust's Clinical Immunology and Allergy department is a highly recognised regional centre. We provide a comprehensive servicecovering all allergic conditions. We are also able to advise on whether symptoms which are difficult to diagnose could be due to allergy. We provide immune system therapy (desensitisation), for people with venom allergy and severe hayfever (allergic rhinitis) as well as specialised antibody treatments for hives (chronic spontaneous urticaria). We provide specialised diagnostic services for drug allergy and food allergy and work closely with our respiratory and dermatology colleagues to determine whether allergy is playing a part in asthma and eczema.
