Main duties of the job
We are looking for an experienced, high-performing pharmacy technician to take up this exciting role at University Hospitals of Leicester. In this newly created post, you will be our most senior pharmacy technician and therefore have a crucial role to play in leading and developing our team of pharmacy technicians, pre-registration pharmacy technicians, pharmacy assistants and other support staff. You will act as the professional lead for this staff group, promoting high levels of professionalism and performance, and advocating for and championing their current and potential roles. You will also have an important role as a member of the wider pharmacy leadership team, helping to both operationally manage and develop the strategy and culture of the wider pharmacy service.
This is a really exciting time to join both our pharmacy team and UHL due to a number of factors including reconfiguration plans, development of new posts, and multiple innovative projects including being the first Trust in the UK to implement a closed-loop unit-dose medicine solution.
The post involves working across all three of our main sites (Leicester Royal Infirmary, Glenfield Hospital and Leicester General Hospital). The post is advertised as up to 1 wWTE. Being a flexible employer who promotes a positive work-life balance is important to us, so we are open to potential flexible working arrangements. Please do get in touch to discuss this and the post more generally, or for an informal visit.
