Job summary

JOB TITLE: Apprentice Level 2 Pharmacy Services

BAND: Apprentice

BASE: Your primary base will be Leicester Royal Infirmary, Glenfield Hospital or Leicester General Hospital as defined, however travel between UHL's hospital sites will be required

HOURS: 37.5

REPORTS TO: Team Leader in each rotational section/Specialist Technician- Training/MMT

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Chief Pharmacist

Main duties of the job

Kick start your career in the NHS by joining the Pharmacy department at University Hospitals of Leicester.

You will be given the opportunity to develop your skills to their full potential whilst working towards a level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant qualification. You will be provided with the training and support you need to become a Pharmacy Assistant as well as developing a range of transferable skills.

You will need to be committed to learning and be highly motivated.

On completion of the apprenticeship, you will be qualified to apply for Band 3 Pharmacy Assistant roles within pharmacy in a range of areas.

There are also further opportunities to apply for a Level 3 Pharmacy service skills apprenticeship on completion of the level 2 which would lead to registration as a Pharmacy Technician when completed.

Minimum entry requirements are 5 GCSE's at grade 4 or above or equivalent including Maths, English and Science

There will be an expectation to work across the three sites of The University hospitals of Leicester and attend one day of college to complete the qualification.

You will be part of the pharmacy team providing a quality service to patients.
