We have an exciting opportunity to join the children's diabetes team. This post is for maternity cover but will allow you to extend your knowledge and skills in a fascinating developing area of medicine.
The Children's Hospital has a well established specialist nursing team who provide quality care to children and their families within the Children's Hospital and in the child's home and school environment.

You will need excellent communication skills to enable you to effectively engage in face to face consultations as well as telephone advice for both families and professionals.
Main duties of the job
-
You will contribute to the day to day clinical care of children and their families who have diabetes and support existing practices such as nurse led and multi-disciplinary clinics, transitional care and education programmes.
-
You will have the vision to further develop services to improve the care for children and young people within the specialist team.
-
You will be responsible for developing and delivering teaching packages to all staff within the Children's Hospital.
About us
Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).
We have four primary goals:
- high-quality care for all,
- being a great place to work,
- partnerships for impact, and
- research and education excellence
And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.
Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
- we are compassionate,
- we are proud,
- we are inclusive, and
- we are one team
This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
