Job summary

You will deliver and develop aseptic pharmacy services. You will be supported by the Accountable Pharmacist of our Section 10 Aseptic Unit and be part of our Aseptic Quality Management Team. If you are interested in developing your clinical skills in cancer services, there will be an a opportunity to undertake clinical duties or further training. Our Cancer Centre, based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary site serves a population of over 1 million and is at the forefront of research and clinical innovation; incorporating a Phase I trials unit, Stem Cell Transplant Unit and commissioned CAR-T service. Our aseptic unit operates under section 10 exemption and currently prepares around 20,000 items per year, mainly for our cancer patients. A new aseptic unit is in the planning process.

Main duties of the job

To co-ordinate the management and development of the teamdelivering specialist clinical pharmacy services to Cancer &Haematology patients via the Aseptic Unit. Haematology &Cancer services are part of the CHUGGS (Cancer Haematology Urology Gastroenterology and General Surgery) CMG.

To provide expert pharmaceutical and technical advice to improve patients care.

To contribute to the CMG business planning process in order that clinical pharmacy services are reviewed and developed in line with National Guidelines and legislation to ensure a high quality service.

To provide accurate and timely financial support to the CMGmanagement team.

To provide specialist input into the management of haematology / oncology clinical trials.
