Job summary
Join us and become a part of the UHL Centralised decontamination Unit!
The Decontamination team are responsible for the timely processing of equipment for Endoscopy, Theatres and the Alliance. This role supports the procurement, storage and transport of sterile equipment.
You will be expected to work on an individual basis but also as an integral member of the team within theatres and ITAPS Decontamination and Sterilisation team, and work according to the department's policies and procedures, up-holding Trust policy.
Weekend and evening work will be considered.
Full clean UK driving license is desirablefor this post.

Main duties of the job

Processing equipment for services including Endoscopy, Urology, Theatres and the Alliance.

Operating a sterilisation machine.

Collecting and delivering used and clean equipment from and to Theatres, Wards, and Departments cross site.

Monitoring stock levels

To participate in the Trust's Mandatory Training Programme (Moving & Handling, Fire Training and Health & Safety).

To maintain your skills as agreed in your appraisal and outlined in the KSF Training Programme.

To participate in the Department's Training Programme to assist and maintain your skills.

To be aware of the Trusts Policy and Procedures on the handling of Infected Surgical equipment.

Undertake other duties as requested by the Department Manager which are within the scope of the post and the demonstrated competency of the post holder.

You will also be expected to maintain a high standard of proficiency against the departments Quality performance requirements.

Please note a driving license whilst not essential is an advantage as the successful candidates will need to work cross site.
