We're looking for a capable and adaptive individual to join our friendly team in this dynamic, interesting and varied role. You would work closely with our clinical colleagues in arranging patients admission for their day case treatments. To make a success of this role you would need to be a well organised , flexible and self-motivated with excellent communication skills who enjoys working as part of a team.
Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring effective co-ordination of all day case admissions, waiting lists and diary management within the service in line with National Policy and locally agreed guidelines.

Specifically, the post holder will ensure that departmental systems and Directorate wide working practices involving the management of elective admissions keep pace with organisational development activities.

The post holder will need to be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills who can acknowledge the pressures on the medical staff to ensure that patients are admitted in a timely and efficient manner

To implement and be responsible for setting up, maintaining and monitoring the waiting list ensuring that suspensions, cancellations and DNA's are recorded and dealt with according to the UHL Patient Access Policy

To receive waiting list slips and make sure they are added to the system within 24 hours.

To ensure full utilisation of slot availability.

To ensure all Local and National Standards are applied to the Waiting List, RTT & National Cancer Targets, Data Quality checks and the UHL Patient Access and Data Management Policy.

The booking of any overseas visitors, referring any overseas patient to the Overseas Patient Manager.
-
Liaise with Ward Sister and Deputies regarding availability.

Diary Management for each treatment area
-
To monitor, maintain and report diary cancellations, including notice time given.

To ensure case notes are at the ward and ready if a list is booked at short notice or the notes are within your area
-
To provide training and support to new staff regarding HISS ensuring pathways are managed according to Trust Policy.

Responsible for timeliness, accuracy and integrity of the data recorded on paper and electronic system

Responsible for validation of Data Quality reports as required by the Team Leader
-
Provide cover for colleagues as and when required.

Telephone and general office duties.
