Job summary

We are looking for an individual to join our Maternity Admin team. The hours will be full time 37.5 hours per week. You will be based at Leicester General Hospital.

You will be responsible and accountable for Obstetric and scanning clinics and for the provision of Maternity case notes. Administration of outpatient visits from Midwife referral to discharge. To ensure accurate and timely data quality through effective use of the HISS, Patient centre and E3 systems.

To work as part of the team, being totally responsible for the appointments, preparation and smooth administration of all aspects of designated clinics and to provide a high-quality service to both clinicians and patients.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide cover on ante natal clinic / scan reception. Receiving and directing patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous manner

  • To provide a friendly, courteous, professional, and efficient reception service when dealing with patients, relatives, and colleagues.

  • To answer phone calls in a polite and friendly manner and redirect when necessary to the correct department.

  • To book the attendance and discharge of patients and provide follow-up appointments where necessary. Ensuring the patient is checked in and correctly identified on HISS including checking of patient's demographic details and making any changes as required.

  • Ensure all patients outcomes are completed at the end of the session as per the Trust / government standard.

  • To ensure that all clinics are closed down, computerised systems are updated, and further actions taken.

  • To give non-clinical advice, information and guidance to patients, carers and visitors accessing ante natal services

  • Monitor and advise patients of the standard operating procedures regarding the attendance of visitors in the scan room and late arrivals
